Karachi, 8 July 2019– YahClick, the satellite broadband service of UAE-based global satellite operator Yahsatand its partner Hughes Network Systems, held its inaugural YahClick Invitational Golf Tournament on Sunday 7thJuly. Hosted at Karachi Golf Club, the annual tournament brought together YahClick’s Pakistan Service Partners ClickSat, Nexlinx, Pak Datacom, and Supernet along with media and customers, both current and potential, to explore and celebrate how the service continues to bridge the country’s digital divide.
Today, YahClick provides essential connectivity to home users and businesses in remote areas of Pakistan, in particular, SMEs and larger organisations in key verticals across banking, oil and gas, healthcare, education, construction, media, and government. With this, YahClick is contributing to social change in Pakistan in numerous ways - providing businesses with instant access to the global markets, linking some of the country’s most important infrastructure, including ATM’s for leading banks in remote locations, and facilitating greater access for the population to online education and healthcare.
“Today’s tournament was a valuable opportunity to explore YahClick’s role in unlocking Pakistan’s social and economic potential with reliable and cost-effective satellite broadband services. YahClick pioneered the adoption of Ka-band High Throughput Satellite (HTS) technology to provide more affordable and dependable connectivity across Pakistan. Using multi-spot beam technology, YahClick services ensure greater efficiency in remote areas where terrestrial services can’t reach,” commented Sajid Mangrio, VP Sales Central and South West Asia, YahClick.
“YahClick made a firm commitment to the nation when we launched in 2015, and by delivering on this commitment alongside our valued Service Partners, our footprint and positive impact has grown steadily. Thank you to all of today’s participants and congratulations to our winners,” added Mangrio.
In addition to the main event, players participated in a series of creative golf themed activations designed to demonstrate YahClick’s benefits and advantages over traditional terrestrial internet services. The day concluded with prize presentations and a gala dinner.
