- USD15 million six-year agreement will expand YahClick’s presence in Africa
- Strategic partnership makes Canar one of YahClick’s largest service providers in the region

Abu Dhabi, 30 January 2023: YahClick, the Data Solutions subsidiary of Al Yah Satellite Communications Company PJSC (the “Group”) has signed a USD 15 million six-year strategic partnership agreement with Canar Telecommunication Co. Ltd of Sudan to further expand its satellite broadband presence in Africa.
The deal will make Canar Telecommunications Co. Ltd one of YahClick’s largest service providers across the region and deliver a wide range of new and improved services to customers across Sudan. The deal is a further addition to the Group’s unique revenue backlog, which stood at USD 2.1 billion as at the end of September 2022 and reached 5.1 times the Group’s annual 2021 revenue.
The signing ceremony was attended by Ali Al Hashemi, Yahsat Group Chief Executive Officer; Sulaiman Al Ali, Chief Executive Officer of YahClick & Thuraya, Abdalla Saeed, Canar Chief Executive Officer and David Garjang, Canar Chief Commercial Officer. The ceremony took place at Yahsat Headquarters in Abu Dhabi on Monday, 23 January.
Under the agreement, Canar has procured significant satellite capacity from YahClick, which will be used by the company to deliver consistent, reliable and fast broadband internet connectivity to consumers and businesses in Sudan. The expanded connectivity delivered by YahClick will enable Canar to build on its position as a broadband market leader based on quality of service, with superior network performance and availability.
The deal is in line with Canar and the Sudanese government’s digital transformation goals and desire to expand broadband connectivity across the country. It will be enabling services on Hughes’ award-winning Jupiter platform, which delivers better performance and higher speed to the end user.
Canar is seeking to provide enhanced connectivity to support a series of e-government programs and revitalize the country’s banking and private sectors. The telecoms provider is also aiming to support entrepreneurs in the country to digitally-empower their businesses by offering them more affordable and reliable internet services.

Canar already employs cutting edge technologies such as Next Generation Network (NGN) and Wireless Loop (WLL) making it one of the few to deploy such technologies as the base of the network. Canar’s products and offerings include voice, data, internet and multimedia services.
